What we model, they inherit

|Chloe Julian

If you never hear your mother say, “I feel good in my body”...If your grandmother never spoke of her body with gratitude...How will you ever learn to feel at home in yours?

We learn how to treat our bodies by watching the women who came before us. If we never see them at ease in their skin, how can we know that’s even possible?

Self-acceptance isn’t always loud or dramatic. Sometimes, it’s as simple as choosing comfort. Choosing to feel good in what you wear.

That’s why we design lingerie you can feel at ease in. Underwire-free, breathable, and created for comfort that lasts all day, for the body you already have, not the one you’re trying to change.

A note from Chloé, founder of Videris:

“As a mother to a young daughter, I think about this all the time. I see how closely she watches me, how she copies the way I move, the things I say, even how I look at myself in the mirror. She asks questions like “what are you doing to your legs” when I am shaving, “why are you putting that on your face”? When I apply make-up. ‘Why are you doing that?” when I tweezed my eyebrows.

It’s made me reflect on my relationship with my own body, and the messages I’m unconsciously passing on.  There are already so many external messages telling young girls and women how they ‘should’ look and I don’t want to be one of them. I want her to grow up feeling at home in herself, and I know that begins with me.”
