Videris is beautifully-executed lingerie made from natural, sustainable fabrics free from harmful chemicals.

Lingerie to Love - Our commitment to you and the planet

We are committed to creating pieces made for your comfort and well-being and using only sustainable manufacturing practices.  We exclusively use natural, durable materials and trims in our lingerie and sleepwear. Yes, this makes us a little more expensive than most. But we refuse to compromise when it comes to making lingerie that’s good for you and considerate of our environment.

“I’ve seen first-hand how much of the lingerie industry relies on cheap, plastic-based materials. I want Videris to be the antithesis of that. Videris is enlightened lingerie both in how it’s made and how it makes you feel"

Videris Creative Director and Founder Chloé Julian

We create lingerie for everyday luxury. Taking time to imbue a sense of timelessness and femininity in our designs - we don’t need to reinvent our bras and knickers every season. Instead we’ll occasionally release a new design when we’re sure we’ve got it right. We understand your lingerie is working hard for you. To ensure you can wear your lingerie season after season it’s important to care for it correctly.

Considered fibers

Creating lingerie that lasts starts with choosing the right fabric. Our bras, knickers, and sleepwear are made from the latest generation in TENCEL™ Lyocell. Not only does TENCEL™ feel soft against your skin, it also gives you the chance to breathe.

Tencel™ is a soft breathable, natural fiber made using sustainability-sourced wood pulp.

The botanic fibres are created from renewable wood sourced from natural forests and sustainably managed plantations within Austria and neighbouring countries. The environmentally responsible closed loop production process transforms wood pulp into cellulosic fibers with high resource efficiency and low ecological impact. The process recycles water and recovers more than 99% of solvents used.

TENCEL™ is made by Lenzing who received the European Eco-Label, which addresses compliance with high environmental standards for production and products and the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 Certificate which guarantees the fibers are free of harmful chemicals.

Lenzing works with the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) and Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC™) to ensure the wood is sustainably sourced. All TENCEL™ lyocell fibers are available with FSC® (C041246) or PEFC™ certification upon request, and have been certified as Biobased under the BioPreferred® Program of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, a governmental body.

Lace-free Lingerie

You may wonder why we use TENCEL™ exclusively. You won’t find any lace bras or mesh knickers in our collection. That’s because most of these fabrics are made from plastic.

Not only are plastic-based fibers stifling against the skin, there’s also a hefty amount of toxic chemicals used in the production process.

Some of these toxic chemicals - such as Nonylphenol Ethoxylates (NPEs) - remain in polyester-based lingerie and clothing and are nearly impossible to wash out. These NPEs can break down into endocrine-disrupting chemicals which can interfere with your hormones, leading to many adverse reactions in the body. There is generally very little transparency about the array of toxic chemicals used during the dyeing and printing of fabrics, even in the case of organic fabrics. Azo dyes - a cheap, versatile dye used by many clothing manufacturers - is known to contain heavy metals such as cadmium, lead, mercury and chromium.

Mentioning these scary-sounding toxins is a little uncomfortable, we get it. But we want to spark a conversation about what's hiding in polyester-based lingerie and ensure Videris is free from these nasties.

After all, lingerie is what we wear directly against our skin - our largest organ and capable of absorbing whatever we put on it.

We’re not perfect. We use a small amount of powermesh in our bras for added strength and support. This ultimately helps to extend the lifespan of a Videris bra. As part of our commitment to sustainability, we’re searching for a supplier who makes powermesh out of recycled polyester.

Our entire production process is certified OEKO-TEX® Standard 100. This means every piece of material or trim we use is free of harmful substances such as heavy metals, toxic dyes, and carcinogenic substances.

Every Videris garment has been OEKO-TEX® certified and comes with a unique label number. You can check the label number on the OEKO-TEX® website.

Ethical Partnerships

Our manufacturing partner in Sri Lanka shares our commitment to ethical and sustainable production processes. Unlike most clothing manufacturers, they only run their factory during the day. No night shifts make it easier for their people to maintain a work-life balance and care for their families. They also do their part for their community, contributing to their local hospital and maternal care clinic.

Our creative director has visited the factory, spending time on the factory floor and meeting the people who make your lingerie. We also check in regularly to make sure they continue to uphold our standards. And like every manufacturer we partner with, they carry OEKO-TEX® certification.
